Natur genéissen was launched with the aim of preserving species-rich habitats in the agricultural landscape and motivating farmers to promote additional nature conservation practices on their farmland. The project combines the offer of products from the farms with the demand of the childcare and education services of the participating municipalities.

Conventional and organic farms that sell their products through Natur genéissen meet sustainability and nature conservation criteria. They are committed to sustainable production that takes soil, water and climate protection into account. Natur genéissen producers do not use genetically modified feed at all and ensure animal welfare in terms of keeping and feeding. In addition, producers meet nature conservation criteria to preserve and create habitats for native animal and plant species. Each Natur genéissen farmer sets aside 5% of their production area for structural elements and natural areas, thereby making an important contribution to the sustainable development of the landscape in their SICONA, Naturpark Öewersauer and Naturpark Our, as well as the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall municipalities. 

Farmers also fulfill specific product criteria according to the product that is sold via Natur genéissen.

To meet the growing demand for local, sustainable quality products, the list of producers committing to Natur genéissen producers is constantly growing.
